We have been discussing how long we should hold on to our check-out labels for security/legal reasons. Would they even hold up in court as proof of a child being picked up by someone who had the label (therefore someone who had the right to), if for some reason we ran into a legal issue? At this point we are holding onto them for one year, but do you believe this is necessary?
Great question! I’ve only heard of churches keeping the check-out labels for a week. You may want to run the Room Roster Report and have parents initial the ‘Out box’ when they pick up their children. You could keep these sheets in a file which would eliminate having to keep all the check out labels.
